What is SCAT C about?

Many factories find it difficult to adhere to the code of conduct and national legal requirements on hours of work. These difficulties often stem from a lack of adequate policies and procedures but also from root-causes such as delays of orders or material deliveries. These difficulties are multiplied by insufficient systems and lack of data on these root-causes, leaving the impression that hours of work are unpredictable. 

This SCAT focuses  on aspects directly related to managing hours of work (having a clear policy, procedure and documentation) and other issues that heavily affect hours of work, such as production planning and risk management (e.g. last minute orders). It starts with the basic assumption that hours of work within code limits coupled with a well prepared production plan increase productivity, efficiency and income.
